MoodLens Privacy Policy

GetDeAddicted LLC ("we," "our," or "us") built MoodLens as a privacy-first application. This privacy policy explains how MoodLens handles your data.

Face Data Collection and Use

MoodLens uses your device's front-facing camera to analyze facial micro-expressions for mood journaling purposes. This analysis involves temporarily processing facial geometry data (face landmarks and action units) to determine emotional states.

Important: All facial analysis is performed entirely on your device using Apple's Core ML framework. No face data, facial images, or biometric data is ever transmitted to any server, stored in any cloud service, or shared with any third party.

Camera frames are processed in-memory only and are immediately discarded after analysis. No photos or videos are ever saved to your device's storage or photo library.

Data Stored on Your Device

MoodLens stores the following data locally on your device only:

• Mood journal entries: Emotion scores, timestamps, and optional text notes you add
• Emotion patterns: Aggregated insights about your emotional trends over time
• App preferences: Your settings such as reminder time and display preferences

All locally stored data is encrypted using AES-256 encryption via SQLCipher. This data never leaves your device.

No Data Collection

MoodLens does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. Specifically:

• No face images or facial geometry data is stored or transmitted
• No analytics or usage tracking SDKs are included in the app
• No advertising frameworks or ad tracking is used
• No user accounts, email addresses, or personal identifiers are collected
• No data is sent to any server — the app makes zero network requests
• No third-party services receive any data from the app

No Third-Party Services

MoodLens contains no third-party SDKs, analytics tools, crash reporting services, or advertising frameworks. The app operates entirely independently with no external service dependencies.

Biometric Data (Face ID)

MoodLens optionally uses Face ID or Touch ID to lock access to the app. This biometric authentication is handled entirely by Apple's LocalAuthentication framework. MoodLens never accesses, stores, or processes your biometric enrollment data.

Children's Privacy

MoodLens is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect any data from children under 13. Since the app collects no data from any user, there is no risk of children's data being collected or shared.

Data Deletion

All MoodLens data is stored exclusively on your device. You can delete all data at any time through the app's Settings screen by tapping "Delete All Data." Additionally, uninstalling MoodLens permanently removes all associated data from your device.

Data Retention

Journal entries are retained on your device for the duration you specify in Settings (default: 365 days). You may export your data as JSON or CSV at any time before deletion.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
